Travel Teams

About the FCSC Travel Teams
The FCSC Travel Team Program is for players and families desiring a higher level of soccer training, playing experience and competition. FCSC travel teams are for boys and girls ages U-9 through U-19. Teams play in the NCSL, WAGS and ODSL. Traveling consists of four games per season to an opponent’s home and possible tournaments. During seasonal play, teams can be promoted to a higher division or relegated to a lower division at the end of each season, based upon their won/lost record. For this reason and others, travel play inevitably becomes competitive. If your child is considering trying out for a FCSC travel team, or is already on a FCSC travel squad, we are confident you will be very pleased with the FCSC travel experience. The goal of the FCSC is to sponsor up to two travel teams in every age and gender bracket.

Although travel teams are independent and, therefore, have differing personalities and goals, all share several key characteristics:

• The team seeks to provide quality training and competition at the level of the teams skill and dedication.
• The team seeks to improve team members’ self-esteem and self-confidence.
• The team promotes fun and fitness.
• The team seeks to meet the highest standards of sportsmanship.
• The team seeks to create a sense of identity and camaraderie among its team members.

This Team Policy Manual will outline the policies and procedures for how a team will function. Sample Policy Manual
