FCSC Spring Referee Schedule

The Spring Referee schedule is now posted. Please click on the link on the left hand side of this page that says referee schedule. Please verify that you are able to work the games you are assigned by emailing me at Kristie@fcsc.org Please remember that we have more than the ususal amount of referees this season; you may not have receive many games if you are new to FCSC or have a limited availability. If you would like to be added as a sub, please let me know.

As a reminder FCSC only assigns referee’s for our U8 and U10 house rec games. There is one center ref and no AR’s for these games. The pay is $22 for U8 games and $25 for U10 games. Checks are sent to all referee’s approximately one week after the season is over.

If you are interested in reffereeing travel or SFL, please contact Tarey Houston at tareyassignor@aol.com and/or Sharon Deplitch at sharon.deplitch@verizon.net  to get on their lists as they do the assigning for all travel/SFL games.

If you have any questions, please email me at kristie@fcsc.org

Thank you!

New Referee Information
Becoming a New Referee

To become a Soccer Referee, you must attend a certification class and pass a written test.

You must be at least 12 years of age to work as a Soccer Referee. (You can take the class when you are 11.)

To register for a clinic, click on this link: http://www.vadcsoccerref.com/
Click on "Clinic Search" and find a "New Referee Grade 8" class that fits your schedule.
Then go back to the home page and click on the left side of the page "Online Registration"
You must first register with the state and pay $65 on line (print your receipt). In 24 hours you will receive an email accepting your application. You can now register for a clinic. Browse and choose a New Referee Grade 8 clinic. Once again print your receipt for the class.

There are two options for initial certification, Grade 9 or Grade 8.  A Grade 8 Referee can work all levels of youth matches.  A Grade 9 can not be the Center Referee for any travel games and can be the Center Referee only for U-12 or younger recreation games Also, Grade 9 Referee can only work U-14 and younger Assistant Referee assignments If you start with Grade 9, the club recommends that you upgrade to Grade 8 when you are required to recertify.

All referees are required to recertify annually.  The club will usually hosts at least one recertification course prior to the start of each season.  An announcement of the time and date will be posted on the club website.  To sign up for this course, you will still be required to follow the procedures outlined above with the Metro VA/DC State Referee Program.

FCSC's colors are Black and White.  So, if you plan on working FCSC recreational matches, please purchase a YELLOW referee shirt.  Referee uniform kits are available through many on-line sources and will costs approximately $40 or less.
