On behalf of all the members of the Fauquier County Soccer Club Board of Directors, I would like to thank the players, coaches and parents for a wonderful Fall Season. We hope every single player had a fun season.
As the old saying goes, “many hands make for light work,” a special thanks to all the coaches for their time and commitment to helping young athletes gain a greater understanding of the game and become more skilled players. We couldn’t do this without the parents who support their children, work with the coaches and serve as the network that holds the Club together. Thank you for sharing your Fall with us. We look forward to seeing you again in the Spring.
We also want to wish our Travel Teams the best of luck at the Hunt Country Classic, November 22-23. Our tournament directors, Kim and Doug Farmer, have done an excellent job organizing this Class A Tournament and we hope that many of our FCSC teams will enjoy the thrill of victory this weekend. We encourage all FCSC players to come out and support our teams during the tournament to see some quality play and enjoy the soccer atmosphere. There will also be plenty of tournament merchandise to purchase and wear proudly around town. The complete schedule is on the web site.
On a final note, we would also like to thank all of you for your patience as we continue the repair of our Athey field complex. Please be assured that we are working in conjunction with the Warrenton Field Association to preserve the Athey fields. Unfortunately, this has meant scaling back our use of those fields, including not using the fields for the Hunt Country Classic. Our goal is to ensure the fields are ready for play in Fall 2009 and we ask for your continued understanding on this matter. Last year, we overused the fields and we are asking everyone to help us not repeat our mistakes so that the fields come back even stronger than before.
Mark your calendars for the annual FCSC Meeting on March 7 (location TBD). Spring Registration is now open—please go to www.fcsc.org to register early and take advantage of the Early Bird Fees.
We are proud to serve as your Board of Directors and urge you to contact us with any questions or concerns. We look forward to serving you again in 2009.
