Fellow Members:
Spring is in the air and a new soccer season is just days away. As I return to the FCSC Board, I am struck with the joy we all share and the promise associated with the start of a new season. I look forward to that first goal making it all official.
I would be remiss if I did not take a moment to express my appreciation for the previously seated Board of Directors, for their strong efforts leading our Club this past year. A special thanks to Beth Miller Howser, our past President, Jason Burwitz and Sean Carrick who have left our Board, you will all be missed. Equally, special thanks go out to Rick Ashley, Harvey Fox, Don Knotts and Jeremy Smith, our carry-over Board of Directors, who are joining our new Board Members Lori Kearns, Jim Dalton and myself, to serve FCSC this fiscal year. We are excited with the prospects of the new year and appreciative of the confidence you expressed in our capacity to serve our Club, our Children, our Members and our Community.
As is always the case, there are multiple projects that we on the Club “Team” are working. Our focus is on Club growth, Club financial stability and Club positioning for the future. You can expect changes in the upcoming months with special focus on the talents of our Technical Team, headed by Bill Lanza.
There is always room for additional volunteers to join us in building our Club for the future. We welcome your comments, your ideas and your active engagement as part of the Club leadership structure. There is more to come in this arena specifically, but we will save that for a later day.
For now though, let’s all turn our attention to our children, the development of their skills, their love of the game and just having “fun”. Let the play begin. May you all have a glorious and safe soccer season; we’ll see each other out on the fields!
