Marshall Wolves tear up the Taylor Tigers
Marshall 5 and Taylor 0
Tuesday April 15, 2008 - The Marshall Middle School Wolves were ready to do battle with the Taylor Middle School Tigers. In the Past, Taylor has had numerous victories over Marshall and we were looking to change the tide.
We had a very good game that was played hard by both teams. They both came out fighting. The wolves scored 5 goals and did not allow any. The goals were not easy goals. With each attempt, Taylor’s defense was there to block, aggravate, and force every shot.
Goals were scored by MacKenzie Cahoon with 2 goals, Sydney Long with 2 goals, and Elizabeth Domann scored 1 goal with an assist from Taylor. Our Defense played amazing. They forced every shot. They were mature in the way they controlled the field. They communicated and directed the field from the back. A huge thank you goes out to the Defense. Marina Munday and Kelly Smith as Keeper, Shelby Adams as sweeper, Rachel Jones, Sydney Long, Elaine Da Silva, and Carly Marchansci playing in the back.
Way to go girls!! Keep up the great team work and play tough!
Marshall Wolves Devour the Cedar Lee Trojans
Marshall 5 Cedar Lee 0
Marshall Middle School Wolves made the hour long bus ride to Cedar Lee Middle School on Thursday April 17, 2008. It was a great day for soccer.
Marshall took the field against a very aggressive and determined Cedar Lee team. Cedar Lee really did a number on our girls at the start of the game. They were ready to play and brought their a game. They had a great defense set up and played girls that were not afraid to challenge our girls. Our girls play tough and reached inside to bring out their a game as well. Once we got past the first 10minutes and were able to ascess the field, the girls were able to make plays that were successful. We had a strong passing game and really challenged the Cedar Lee defense.
Goals were scored by Danni Boise, who had a HAT TRICK!! Way to go Danni. Elizabeth Domann scored 1 goal as did Elaine DaSilva. Again our defense was strong. Way to go girls. Our midfield this game really went out of their way to distribute the ball successfully. Thank you to our midfielders, Mackenzie Cahoon, Hayley Dodds, and Elizabeth Domann.
Marshall Wolves beat Warrenton Warriors
Marshall 2 Warrenton 1
Wednesday April 23, 2008 – Marshall Middle School Wolves pulled out a victory against Warrenton Middle School Warriors. Marshall changed the line up for the game against Warrenton. Not a bad call, but moving the 2 defensive plays Sydney Long and Shelby Adams left our defense unsure of itself. They played well until Warrenton shot a long ball from the 18 to the upper right corner of our net. It was a beautifully well placed shot that had Warrenton on their feet cheering. With Marshall down 1 to nothing, moving Shelby and Sydney back to defend was critical. They were instrumental in shutting down their shooting and scoring chances. Marina Munday, Marshall’s starting keeper had an amazing game. She had 4-5 shots that she snagged out of the air to make awesome saves for her team. With renewed energy and a new empowered attitude, Marshall Wolves stepped up their game and came out on fire. Elizabeth Domann scored our two goals with an assist from Danni Boise and Hayley Dodds. Way to play gorls, Keep up the great work!
